Decking on the bow of the TS Colne.

The TS Colne, in Colchester Essex, is the home of the Colchester Sea Cadet Corp and recently had a new deck installed on its bow. This was possible thanks to the generosity of contributors and sponsors in the Essex area. The new deck was designed to be a functional, practical and attractive addition to the vessel. It was raised approx. one metre above the deck level, and wooden doors were fitted to give access to the storage space and access hatches beneath. The decking was made from durable decking boards that were securely fitted with water-resistant screws, with a handrail fitted around the edge for safety and LED lighting was installed around the handrail to allow safe access during nighttime. The work was completed in a timely fashion and is now in use by the Sea Cadets. The result is a functional, safe and attractive addition to the TS Colne that is a testament to the team involved.
